Creating walkable, urban, human-centered neighborhoods in the Granary District.
I just recently saw this article on NPR's website and thought it summarized why cities all over the country are going back to our transportation roots.
The bottom line is that more and more people want to live closer to urban centers and want efficient, compact transportation options, specifically, light rail.
Also, light rail can be the catalyst for investment and compact growth by attracting people and businesses to be closer to the myriad of amenities that urban areas offer.
This is what is going to happen in the Granary District with the proposed streetcar line. We are in the positon to help dictate how and where the investment can happen.
We're planning for the middle to end of January for the Block Party kick-off meeting. Details to follow shortly. Hapy New Year, everyone!
